La Prairie

La Prairie is a Swiss cosmetic company which was launched in 1931. La Prairie was first correlated with the popular Clinique La Prairie, which was a pioneer in the skin treatment and revitalization. In 1982 the market of the cosmetics and skin care products, associated with the brand, has grown and since 1991 the products became part of the Beiersdorf family of companies.

Best known for its anti-ageing skin care regimes, in 1960s La Prairie also appeared in the fragrances world. One of the company’s first fragrances was One Perfect Rose, which was created in 1965 by Guy Robert and re-announced in 1990 as a limited edition in a luxury packaging. The signature scent – La Prairie was released in 1993. Some of the most popular perfumes were created and launched in the early 2000s. Silver Rain was announced in 2004 and Midnight Rain – in 2006.

In 2009 the brand introduced the Life Threads Series. The luxurious bottles of the fragrances – Silver, Gold, and Platinum, were decorated with the fine filaments of the precious metals. In the next year, this line of fine fragrances was continued with the announcement of the Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald scents. The bottles of these perfumes were beautified with gemstones. In 2011 were offered limited editions and gift sets of Life Threads fragrances.
